Window systems for real-world use

The Defender Hard Top 110 was never originally fitted with side windows. Where needed, Land Rover used the rear window from the 130 Crew Cab to fit glass into the side panels — but proportions and positioning are completely different compared to a 110 Station Wagon.

Factory glass from the 90 or 110 SW may fit dimensionally, but is visually unsuitable due to the layout of the Hard Top side panel. Our systems are designed specifically for this model.

Designed with purpose

We don't build windows for looks. We build for function: access, ventilation and protection.

• Quarter windows (fixed): replace the small rubber-mounted glass at the rear of the vehicle (left and right). These are a known weak point — easily pushed out to gain access to the rear door. Our version uses a secure aluminium frame with the same shape.
• Quarter gullwing windows: same outer size, but hinged. Perfect for water, power or internal access. Available for left and right side.
• Gullwing windows (side): open upward on gas struts. Ideal for accessing storage, drawers or your kitchen setup. Optional version includes an integrated sliding window.
• Vertical sliding rear window: replaces the original rear door glass. Drops halfway for airflow. Compatible with Molle panel and other accessories.
• Sliding windows: Defender-style sliders with improved function. Multi-position opening, snaps into place, lockable and durable.

All frames are built from Explore Glazing’s own aluminium extrusion profiles — no off-the-shelf parts, no compromises.

Accessories for protection and off-road travel

• Window guards: normally mounted to the aluminium frame to protect against impact and theft.
  For gullwing windows with glass, the guard is mounted directly onto the glass — to prevent scratches while driving off-road, or simply for aesthetics.
• Molle panels: mountable on the inside of the vertical sliding rear window, ideal for gear or tools.
• Explore Overlander Light: fold-down table / window guard. Compatible with gullwing and sliding windows.
