Land Rover Discovery I - 5 door

Window systems designed to fit and function

The Land Rover Discovery I 5-door features smaller side windows than the 3-door version. This limits the use of sliding windows — which is why we offer a streamlined, purpose-built selection of gullwing windows and accessories only.

All products are installed in the original factory rubber and require no drilling, welding or cutting. Installation is fully reversible, keeping your Discovery original while adding functionality and security.

Built to fit your Discovery I 5-door

  • Factory-style rubber fitment – no body modifications
  • Glass: LT20% Dark Grey (tempered safety glass)
  • All frames made from Explore Glazing’s own aluminium extrusion profiles
  • ECE 43R and DOT certified

Purpose-built window systems

  • Gullwing window (aluminium or glass panel): replaces the rear side window with a gas-strut-supported hatch. Perfect for fast access to storage or tools.
  • Window guard for gullwing: mounted directly on the glass (for glass versions), protects against scratches or break-in attempts.
  • Explore Overlander Light: fold-down window guard/table. Mounts directly to the gullwing.

All parts are built to match the use, form and function of the 5-door Discovery — robust, secure and made to last.

Hello Explore Glazing, After years of restoring, the time had come this summer. Our Land Cruiser HJ61 Build is Road ready, and we were able to test our setup for the first time. Of course your Gullwings were there...we had just one opinion…of all the upgrades our vehicle has received, your windows are among our favorites. They give us quick and easy access to our luggage compartment. At the same time, we've come to appreciate the Overland Package. There's always a place to park things, which is unbeatable given the limited options in a camping situation. I’ve been running the Jimny Gullwing for a few years now and I’m still delighted with the fit and finish. I live near the coast with salty air that often takes its toll on metals. This Gullwing still looks like new, operates flawlessly. I opted for the drop table additional accessory and it’s something I use even more than the Gullwing window. At camp it makes for a super useful shelf and on the go it’s the perfect platform for a side-of-the-road coffee. 5* product and customer service to match. Cheers from the UK

I recently purchased a 2011 G550 with the gull wing windows and window guards installed. (There are photos of the vehicle on the website) I was in need of replacement spring latches as the terrible salt used on Montana roads had corroded the existing latches. I emailed Explore Glazing for help. My request was answered by Anja Seijn. She was very helpful and arranged getting the needed parts to me in Montana. The parts arrived yesterday via FedEx. My experience dealing with Explore Glazing was very positive. I am confident that should I have the need for parts or accessories in the future, Explore Glazing will be my first choice.
