Land Rover Defender - gullwing window aluminium

Also referred to as a flip-up side hatch, this aluminium gullwing window fits precisely into the factory window opening of the Land Rover Defender 90 or 110. The contour-matched aluminium frame ensures a flush, professional appearance – with no modifications to the bodywork required.

Installation

  • Mounts using M4×16 stainless steel screws and adhesive sealant
  • No modifications to the bodywork required
  • A mounting set is available as an optional extra and is typically offered with your quote. The set includes:
    – 4.2 mm drill bit
    – Dowsil 791 sealant
    – Brush and wipe
  • Optional: black-coated screws available

Fantastic company to deal with despite living in the UK and dealing with the post Brexit shenanigans. The quality of these products is excellent. I have fitted four of their gull-wing windows. However, when fitting to the 78 Series Land Cruiser you have to make a key decision about how much to straighten the body work (window pillar) before installing the windows (the new windows are flat but the OEM bodywork is curved). They must be installed with no bending (see Photo 1). This means you either leave the body work curved and adjust the length and tension of the M4 bolts to ensure that there is no bending in the finished result, or you fully straighten the body work (see Photo 2). If the latter then take extreme care as the OEM paint will crack from the movement and you will definitely need to silicone the outside gap when finished.
