INEOS Grenadier - gullwing window glass

Developed for the INEOS Grenadier, the glass gullwing window replaces the original bonded side glass without cutting or drilling. Installation is fully reversible and allows refitting of the factory glass at any time.

The panel is made from 5 mm E43R and DOT-certified tempered safety glass, tinted dark grey (LT20%) without any film. It is fitted into a custom aluminium frame, developed in-house and finished with matte black powder coating (RAL 9005). The window uses two keyed compression locks and dual gas struts for stable, secure operation.

Each unit is supplied fully assembled and is available for either the left or right side.

Construction

  • 5 mm dark grey tinted tempered glass (LT20%), E43R and DOT approved, no film
  • Frame made from custom aluminium extrusion profiles
  • Matte black powder-coated finish (RAL 9005). The industrial coating is UV-stable and resistant to fading
  • 2 × keyed-alike compression latches
  • 2 × gas struts

Mounts directly to the gullwing frame. Not compatible with the original glass or gullwing windows from other brands.

Installation

The dimensions of the gullwing window precisely match the original side glass of the INEOS Grenadier. No modifications to the bodywork are required, and the original glass can be refitted at any time.

Installation must be carried out using MS Screenbonder, a TÜV-certified polymer adhesive.
The bonding surface must be flat, clean and free of contaminants.
This adhesive is not included by default, but is always offered in your quote.

It is important that Explore Glazing products are assembled correctly and safely. Careless installation can lead to accidents and serious damage and/or injury to yourself or others. If you lack technical experience or are not familiar with our general installation guidelines, we recommend that you have the window installed by a professional.

I’ve been running the Jimny Gullwing for a few years now and I’m still delighted with the fit and finish. I live near the coast with salty air that often takes its toll on metals. This Gullwing still looks like new, operates flawlessly. I opted for the drop table additional accessory and it’s something I use even more than the Gullwing window. I recently purchased a 2011 G550 with the gull wing windows and window guards installed. (There are photos of the vehicle on the website) I was in need of replacement spring latches as the terrible salt used on Montana roads had corroded the existing latches. I emailed Explore Glazing for help. My request was answered by Anja Seijn. She was very helpful and arranged getting the needed parts to me in Montana. The parts arrived yesterday via FedEx.
