Toyota Land Cruiser Series 60 - window guard - sliding window

Images show the 80 Series version. 60 Series version follows same design, adjusted for larger body dimensions.

This window guard is designed specifically for the Explore Glazing sliding window on the Toyota Land Cruiser Series 60. The guard protects the glass from external impact and offroad hazards, while preserving full sliding functionality.

It mounts directly to the outside of the aluminium window frame, not the vehicle body. The guard remains clear of the glass and does not interfere with operation or visibility.

Made from 3 mm CNC-cut aluminium, the guard is finished in matte black powder coating (RAL 9005). It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant and purpose-built for expedition use.

Construction

  • 3 mm aluminium, CNC-cut
  • Matte black powder-coated finish (RAL 9005). The industrial-grade coating is UV-stable and resistant to weather-related fading.

  • All mounting hardware included

Compatible window

Sliding window – Toyota Land Cruiser Series 60

This guard is designed exclusively for Explore Glazing windows and does not fit original windows or those from other brands.

Installation

Mounting requires drilling and tapping into the window frame. No modifications to the vehicle body are necessary. The mounting kit includes:

  • Ø 4.2 mm drill bit
  • Ø 5.0 mm drill bit
  • M5 thread tap
  • Tamper-resistant Torx bit

The mounting set is not included by default, but is always offered in your quote.

Warning: It is important that Explore Glazing products are assembled correctly and safely. Careless installation can result in accidents and serious damage and/or injury to yourself or others. If you lack technical experience or are unfamiliar with our general assembly guidelines, we recommend having the installation carried out by a professional workshop.

Hello Explore Glazing, After years of restoring, the time had come this summer. Our Land Cruiser HJ61 Build is Road ready, and we were able to test our setup for the first time. Of course your Gullwings were there...we had just one opinion…of all the upgrades our vehicle has received, your windows are among our favorites. They give us quick and easy access to our luggage compartment. At the same time, we've come to appreciate the Overland Package. There's always a place to park things, which is unbeatable given the limited options in a camping situation. I’ve been running the Jimny Gullwing for a few years now and I’m still delighted with the fit and finish. I live near the coast with salty air that often takes its toll on metals. This Gullwing still looks like new, operates flawlessly. I opted for the drop table additional accessory and it’s something I use even more than the Gullwing window. At camp it makes for a super useful shelf and on the go it’s the perfect platform for a side-of-the-road coffee. 5* product and customer service to match. Cheers from the UK

I recently purchased a 2011 G550 with the gull wing windows and window guards installed. (There are photos of the vehicle on the website) I was in need of replacement spring latches as the terrible salt used on Montana roads had corroded the existing latches. I emailed Explore Glazing for help. My request was answered by Anja Seijn. She was very helpful and arranged getting the needed parts to me in Montana. The parts arrived yesterday via FedEx. My experience dealing with Explore Glazing was very positive. I am confident that should I have the need for parts or accessories in the future, Explore Glazing will be my first choice.
