Mercedes G-Class - gullwing storage box

Designed for the long wheelbase (LWB) Mercedes G-Class, this storage box mounts directly to the Explore Glazing gullwing window. It creates a secure, frame-mounted compartment with side access, offering practical storage without modifying the vehicle.

The box attaches to the aluminium profile of the gullwing frame using threaded inserts – no drilling into the bodywork is required. The depth is adjustable from 120 mm to approximately 200 mm, ensuring compatibility with the second row of seats and allowing for flexible use of cabin space.

The inner and outer faces feature a MOLLE-compatible grid structure and integrated L-track cargo rails. Ø 4.2 mm mounting points allow attachment of accessories such as Quick Fist clamps or tool pouches with hook-and-loop backing. The grid system supports both internal and external modular use.

Manufactured from 2 mm aluminium and finished with a durable matte black industrial powder coating (RAL 9005), the storage box is built for overland travel, utility use or daily driving.

Installation

The box is made up of a main compartment and an internal collar that fits precisely over the gullwing frame. It is secured with M5 screws using a drill-to-fit method – no bodywork modifications needed.

Installation requires:

• Ø 4.2 mm drill
• Ø 5.0 mm drill
• M5 thread tap
• Tamper-resistant Torx bit

The mounting kit is not included by default, but is always offered in your quote.

If the gullwing window has not yet been installed, we recommend attaching the storage box to the window before fitting it to the vehicle.
